Cornhusker State Games

10/01/2018

Description

The Cornhusker State Games is a statewide amateur sports festival for all Nebraskans. The purpose of the Games is to provide top-quality amateur competition in a wide range of activities. Besides offering a wide range of competitions (from traditional Olympic sports such as Track & Field, Gymnastics and Swimming) Nebraskans' competitive interests are served by less demanding events such as Horseshoe Pitching, Mallwalk and Chess.

Role

I competed in the powerlifting completion for 2018 and won the middleweight bracket. The competition consisted of the deadlift, atlas balls, sled pull, log lift, farmer carry run, and obstacle course.

Takeaways

Nebraska has a lot of great athletes and a great community that supports athletes. I love physical exercise and know that I need to keep improving my body and mind if I want to stay competitive.
