Society of Women Engineers

Description

The Society of Women Engineers strives to advance and honor the contributions of women at all stages of their careers as well as recognize the successes of SWE members and individuals who enhance the engineering profession through contributions to the industry, education, and the community.

Roles

I was a member of the UNL SWE Chapter from 2018 to 2020. In these two years, I supported the club by promoting women's activities, engaging potential members, and fundraising for the organization.

Takeaways

I met many strong and impactful women within this club and it gave me a new perspective on engineering. I learned what it was like as a minority and as a woman in the STEM field. Moreover, I grew as a more tolerant and understanding person that appreciates new perspectives and diversity.
